FAVORITE PRODUCT: Rapala Interface rain jacket and bib.  When I fish tournaments, I have to be prepared to go out in any kind of weather.  This rain suit keeps me absolutely dry, warm, and comfortable no matter what the conditions are.

FAVORITE SPECIES: Smallmouth Bass in recent years have become my favourite sportfish to target.  In a very close second is pretty much any local species that I can catch on a rod and reel.

FAVORITE LURE: X-Rap XRD10 in Glass Ghost pattern. Everyone has a confidence lure and this one is mine. I throw this crankbait all year long in any body of water and catch fish with it.

FAVORITE BODY OF WATER: If you count the Red River to Lake Winnipeg to the Winnipeg River at Pine Falls all the way through to Minaki and into Lake of the Woods as one body of water, then that would be it.

BOAT MOTOR TRAILER: Alumacraft Competitor 185 with a Mercury 150hp 4-stroke on a Karavan trailer.

BEST FISHING STORY:  Losing a fish in a tournament is never good.  Losing a big kicker is worse. Losing a big kicker at the side of the boat is even worse yet.  Imagine my feelings when on the third day of the Kenora Bass International, I lost a surefire 4lb plus bass after its bottom jaw glanced the frame of the net.  It took me awhile to peel myself off of the casting deck.  Just when I was wallowing in absent-minded self-misery thinking that was the worst thing that could've happened, on my very next cast attempt I slammed the back of my head with the football jig.

I spent the rest of the day with a slight concussion and a towel wrapped around my head to soak up all of the blood.  The lesson?  When you're down in the dumps, always keep in mind that it could ALWAYS be worse.

FAVORITE PRODUCT: Alumacraft’s Competitor tillers. These are serious boats for serious angling – capable of handling tough conditions, and configured for comfortable fishing all day long.

FAVORITE SPECIES: The challenge of chasing big walleye is hard to beat, especially on the tournament trail. There’s nothing quite like the excitement that comes with setting the hook on a heavy walleye.

FAVORITE LURE: Rapala Scatter Raps. The series includes different shaped baits that work for targeting walleye at different times of the year, and the erratic swim and kick pattern is great for triggering bites.

FAVORITE BODY OF WATER: Lake of the Woods is my idea of paradise. The beauty of the shield landscape is second only to its amazing fishing opportunities.

BOAT MOTOR TRAILER: Alumacraft Competitor 185 Tiller with a Yamaha 90 hp 4-stroke and Shorelander trailer.

BEST FISHING STORY:  Heading out to fish with our kids is always the start to a good story. In 2016, I took Lily (then 11 years old) in her first “grown up” fishing tournament – the Falcon Lake Walleye Masters Cup. We didn’t win, but we landed plenty of walleye that day including Lily’s personal best. Our results were good enough to win us the runner-up prize for Top All-Female Team of the Year in the Central Walleye Trail. Taking the stage with Lily to accept our prize and celebrate an amazing day on the water was a special moment for both of us.

FAVORITE PRODUCT: St Croix's Legend Elite Rod. St Croix has a full line of top of the line rods, but if I was to pick just one, it would be the Legend Elite hands down!

FAVORITE LURE: Northland's Buck-Shot Spoon

FAVORITE BODY OF WATER: Winnipeg River/Lake Winnipeg, Pine Falls.

BOAT MOTOR TRAILER: Triton's 216 Fishunter powered by Yamaha's Vmax SHO, sitting on a Marine Master Trailer.

BEST FISHING STORY:  After 40+ years fishing Red Lake I have 3 Walleye 29+ inches, never breaking the 30 inch mark on Red. My Girlfriend Angie Fryklund after just 4 years of fishing Red Lake pulls out a monster just shy of 32 inches. Biggest fish I've seen come out of Red Lake to this day.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 2000 Northwestern Ontario Angler of the Year and 2008 1st in the Winnipeg River Greenback Challenge. Every top 10 is a great accomplishment, and tough with todays competition, but the 2000 Angler of the Year still holds that top spot with me.

The Rock & Roll Fisherman Todd Longley

FAVORITE LURE: Reel bait flasher jig

BOAT & MOTOR: Alumacraft 205 Competitor with a Mercury 250 Verado (The bigger the better)

BEST FISH STORY:  I was fishing with Lyle Bauer, when a fish took the rod right out of my hands.  I dove into the river to retrieve it and not only did I get the rod back, the fish was still attached to it!!  From that I received a Sponsorship with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Favorite Species:  Walleye

Favorite Lure:  Rapala Jigging Rap: Nothing is like the hit of big Walleye smashing this lure on the way down.

Favorite Body of Water:  Lake of The Prairies followed by Lake of the Woods.

Boat/Motor/Trailer:  Alumacraft 185 Dominator/150 Mercury 4 Stroke/Shorelander Trailer

Best Fish Story:  Fishing Shoe lake several years ago and we went to shore for a Fish Fry, I helped rig a shore line for my friend so he could continue to fish while I cooked. He hooked into a nice Walleye and needed help to land it. I was so excited I fell into the water, but managed to still grab the fish. Was as nice fat 28" Walleye so despite all the laughs from our crew he will never forget his first Master Walleye.
